Come to beautiful Bar Harbor where unique shops and some of Mount Desert Island's best cuisine is just a few steps away. After sipping on a chilled bottle of champagne compliments of The Balance Rock, take a stroll down our scenic shore path and enjoy a romantic dinner for two at Cafe Bluefish, or Mama DiMatteo's, or a Wine Picnic on our secluded rolling lawns that overlook the ocean, packed with all your favorites.

After dinner return to the Inn and have one of our famous martini’s while soaking up an amazing view of the ocean on our Front Veranda, or sit by the fire in our piano room where guests like to mingle or relax and read. After a delightful evening retire to your room and indulge yourself with some select handmade chocolates from our local chocolatier, a luxurious Rose Petal Jacuzzi Bath, and fall away to sleep in one of the most highly rated mattresses in the world.

Our Summer Cruisin Package includes:

Sail away on one of the most beautiful clipper ships in all of Maine, The Margaret Todd. Their morning sail is a two hour cruise around Frenchman Bay and features narrative on the local history and has frequent sightings of rare wildlife. The afternoon sail is more lively and has cooler breezes, you can even bring your picnic basket along! By far the favorite of all their sails is the romantic sunset cruise, which features live music.

For those more adventurous types we offer you a choice of an exciting Whale & Puffin Watch Cruise, which takes you out to Frenchman Bay where we have had frequent sightings of Humpback and Blue Whales. You might even get a glimpse of those cute Puffins!

Or you can take a scenic Lighthouse and National Park Cruise, which will also take you around the surrounding islands of Bar Harbor and tell you all about the geographical history of the Acadia National Park.

We know sailing around can work up an appetite, so we offer a romantic dinner for two at Cafe Bluefish, or Mama DiMatteo's, or a Wine Picnic on our secluded rolling lawns that overlook the ocean, packed with all your favorites.

Enjoy a scenic carriage ride through Acadia National Park on the historic carriage roads, a gift of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Your choices of carriage rides are a Mountain Carriage Tour which brings you to the top of Day Mountain with views of the ocean and scenic vistas, Mr. Rockefeller's Bridges Tour, a tour to famous Jordan Pond House where you can stop in for some Popovers & Tea, and the most romantic of all is the Sunset Ride.

Stretch out your legs a little and enjoy the hundreds of walking trails Acadia has to offer. Don't worry, with your seven day vehicle pass you'll have plenty of time to soak up all the wonders of Acadia National Park.

Then come back to The Balance Rock and stretch out on our rolling lawns with the most beautiful ocean views and treat yourself to a romantic Wine Picnic.

Explore Acadia National Park with your seven day vehicle park pass. Enter an enchanted world untouched by man. Beautiful historic stone bridges help sculpt the landscape of Acadia. With thick forests, there are hundreds of biking and walking trails, and you will never run out of things to do. Walk down to some of the most breathtaking stone beaches in the world, where slate and granite emerge like the tritons of the King of the ocean.

Go and explore Mount Desert Island's Sea Coast and other surrounding Islands of Acadia's National Park. With the convenience of never having to get in your car, you can launch right from downtown Bar Harbor. This wonderful kayak tour will take you to explore all the nature and wildlife you have yet to find. There have even been sightings of Bald Eagles! Our guides are known as some of the best guides in all of Mount Desert Island.

After an adventurous day, come back to the Inn to enjoy your romantic Wine Picnic for two, packed with all your favorites. Spread out on our rolling lawns that overlook the ocean and soak up the view, while soaking up a little bubbly.
